About Terry

Flagstaff, AZ has been home to Terry Balentine, Flagstaff real estate expert, for over forty years. Terry moved to northern Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University (NAU) in 1967. He bought his first northern Arizona property — a Flagstaff duplex — in 1978.

Terry became a Flagstaff Realtor in 1998 and brings over a decade of experience helping others to buy and sell Flagstaff, AZ real estate. A believer in continuing education, Terry puts in 100s of hours of Flagstaff real estate training and has attained the designations of ABR, CNE, GRI and E-PRO. He has completed both the Board of Realtors Diversity Certificate Program and the Board of Realtors Diversity Certificate Program Leadership Certificate Program.

In 2009, Terry served as the Northern Arizona Board of Realtors Treasurer. The previous year he served as the Northern Arizona Board of Realtors Treasurer-Elect. The Flagstaff, AZ MLS service is governed by the Northern Arizona Board of Realtors.

As United States Postal Service (USPS) carrier in Flagstaff, AZ Terry served as USPS Safety Officer, Union Representative and Treasurer for the Local National Association of Letter Carriers union.

Because of Terry's rich family history, he has a special knowledge and love of northern Arizona. In the 1930s, maternal grandparents Bert and Nellie Clark opened La Siesta Café and Motel in Williams, AZ. The story goes that Berts, brother who was a pilot, was instrumental in developing the airport there that it was named Clark Memorial Field.

Grandma and Grandpa Clark sold the property and moved to Winslow, AZ where they built a second La Siesta Café and Motel on main street. The Mayor of Winslow during the first Standing on the Corner celebration in 1999 the dedicated the statue. He mentioned one of his favorite after school activities was that he and his friends would walk from school to Clarks Cafe for a soda from the soda fountain.

Paternal grandparents Marion and Ollie Ballentine lived in Prescott, AZ to take care of Marion's complications from WWI mustard gas at the Ft Whipple Veteran's hospital. Terry remembers visiting his grandparent's historic Prescott home. A map in the Charlet Hall Muesum shows Prescott with a carrage road leading to Ollie's home which at that time was not in Prescott. The home is still called by locals as the Balentine home.

Terry attended Camelback High School in Phoenix, AZ where he earned the distinction of Phoenix President and then State President of the Junior Odd Fellows. Today he is a member of the Route 66 Car Club. Terry enjoys traveling to France, Italy, Alaska and around the Southwest. He always has a home project going, so ask him about the wood-fire bread oven he is building in his Flagstaff backyard.

Terry's Promise: "If you are looking to purchase a Flagstaff area home or property and choose me to represent you in your real estate transaction, I will work my hardest to find you exactly what you are looking for in the price range that works for you."
